Manatee Viewing Excursion Homosassa

For those who prefer not to get in the water, this is the PERFECT tour for you!  Your adventure takes you through breathtaking views of old Florida to Homosassa Springs, winter home to our beloved manatees.  Along the way you will see resident and migratory wildlife.  All tours pass acres of mangrove islands, shell islands created by indigenous Creek and Seminole Native Americans, Bird Island and the World-Famous Monkey Island!

We operate in one of the most interesting and diverse ecosystems found anywhere in the country.  A First Magnitude freshwater spring discharges 65 million gallons of water a day into the Homosassa River. The river meets the saltwater Gulf of Mexico in such a way that all types of vegetation and wildlife from both ecosystems co-exist and blend together for your viewing pleasure. 

You will see the water change from deep dark browns, to greens, and then crystal-clear spring water!  The Homosassa Spring is a First-Magnitude Spring discharging 65 million gallons of water from our aquafer.  The constant 72-degree temperature is the perfect winter home to Manatees.
